We flew 36 hours, brushed our teeth, changed clothes and drove straight to the orphanage. We were ushered upstairs and I remember we removed our shoes before entering the room. I was removing Annslee's and she was already focusing on her brother : )

He was getting ready to be bathed and had the sweetest little smile when we walked in

Annslee literally screamed "My baby brofer!!!"

After his bath Daddy held him up for a big smile : )

We had a hard time getting a family pic b/c Annslee couldn't keep her hands and eyes off of him

He literally had a death grip on Daddy's tie ~ he had no idea who we were but we were holding him so he was NOT letting go !

Leaving the orphanage

We immediately headed to the Giving & Receiving ceremony

The customary picture with the orphanage director and he is legally OURS in the eyes of the Vietnamese government

Back at the hotel he quickly settled in

After a bath and a change of clothes Big Sister Annslee took over and never let go. Looking at this pic I notice he is reaching for the bottle. He was so used to holding his own and we had to literally force him to let us hold it for him.

We had waited a long time for this day and it was finally here. He was so ready for a family and we were so ready to complete ours. He is true joy and our we can't believe how blessed we are!

Wow! That picture of him with a death grip on Mark's tie - really says it all! A picture is worth a thousand words!
LOVE, Love, love the pic of Annslee checking out her brother and not even noticing that her shoes were being taken off! And the one of her giving him a bottle is priceless too!
I had tears in my eyes reading your post today. I started reading your blog last year just before you went to get Coby. Your kids are both so adorable and both just slightly older than our daughter and son.
I love how much Annslee loves him. It is so obvious that she just adores him and he's got a very special place in her heart.
so amazing... loved seeing these pics and reliving this time with you!
Awe it's so fun to look back. Look how much they have both grown and changed over the past year. Such a beautiful family:)
I have followed your blog for a while now, and these are absolutely the sweetest pictures. Almost made me cry- and I am at work!

I love seeing Coby when you first got him - how little he was! How smitten Anslee was! You all were! It is amazing how he's grown this year!
Very sweet! What a difference a year makes with lots of love and a FAMILY! congrats!
coby has grown SO much in a year - but he's still the cutest little thing (annslee too!)! i love looking back at those first photos. you can tell how much love there was right from the beginning. :) PS. I give your husband credit for wearing a pants, shirt and a tie in the hot, hot VN weather!
I always smile when I see pics of Annslee adoring her brother. Congrats on your year together as a family.
I just love these pictures. That one of Annslee so excited to see her baby brother is too precious.
So sweet~ I remember it well. Happy 1 year together!!!!
I still can't believe it's been one year. Coby looks so happy and healthy!!
I haven't read your blog in quite some time and had not idea that you had adopted a 2nd child. My daughter is also from Vietnam. I would love to share an additional comment about something the kids have in common. Please send me an email when you get a chance: thanhsmom@gmail.com
