Our Hubei Honeys and Heading Home

Yes, I still have more beach pics but haven't gone through them..I do know that I have family who wants to see some pics from our trip home and of course our Hubei families want to see Annslee with Lauren..so here goes : )

On Saturday after we left the beach we stopped and ate lunch to celebrate Coby's referral anniversary...his favorite part was Annslee handing him animal crackers in thea car

DSC_8048

We arrived at our cousin's house and they headed straight to the pool and then watched some TV

DSC_8050

I loved watching Annslee's face (look at her eyes!) as James told her about the alligator that was in the lake behind their house. Yes, they really do have them (we are NOT moving to SC)

DSC_8052

She had to go chat with cousin Taylor on the phone...maybe she was telling her about the gator!

DSC_8053

On Sunday we stopped in Atlanta to see our travelmates. Lauren and Annslee were sooo funny together~ oh the DRAMA!

DSC_8061

Coby enjoyed watching them

DSC_8056

DSC_8067

Of course Coby ran into the pic but wouldn't stay still

DSC_8069

We loved seeing the Dudley's and hope to see them again soon. I can't believe it has been almost 4 years since we were in hotel rooms side by side in China as we got to know our daughters.

Reflections

The summer theme over at we picture {this} is Reflections and here is the picture I posted. Go on over and check out all the great photos.

It was Coby's first time at the ocean and he loved it. He laughed again and again as he ran into the waves but he did stop long enough to check out a cute little boy looking back from the water in the sand : )

Dragon Boat Races

I have always wanted to go see the races and today we did it. Well, Annslee and I did anyway. We didn't make it there by 8 am for the opening festivities and by the time we were going we knew Coby would not be able to make it without a nap so we did the "girl" thing today.

As we walked around during the break time we saw her teachers from Chinese dance/language class and she ran up and grabbed them both. They are both so sweet and their team placed third in the finals!

DSC_2766

She did have to chat on her phone some~ not sure what the drama was LOL

Dragon Boat Festival1

We were watching for the races to start and were approaced by a family who have a daughter from China and a son from Vietnam. We then found out they travelled to their daughter two months before us (with the same agency) and their son is from GoVap orphanage just like Coby and they were there two months before us again : )

Sometimes you take a picture and just love it for some reason ~ yes, the Asian squat is still going strong!

Beautiful girls

DSC_2800

We both enjoyed our time together. It isn't often that it is just the two of us anymore.

DSC_2803

After the races we walked around downtown for a while and did the "touristy" thing. Yep, she got her pic made at the Wild*horse Sal00n

and only in Nash*ville do you sit on a saddle atop a Jack Dan*iels whisk*ey barrel : )

Beach~ Day One

We missed his first smile, his first tooth and so many other firsts but we didn't miss the first time he saw the ocean!

We got out of the car and headed straight to the beach. I sat him down and he literally RAN to the water. Just like his big sister he had NO fear and kept running back into the ocean over and over while the waves knocked him down.

Hey, what is this under my feet and what is that huge swimming pool doing out there??!!

first glimpse

Annslee turned around and said "Coby likes it!"

DSC_2482

As he got closer big sister ran to hold his hand and help him.

DSC_2463

I LOVE this pic as he was running from the waves

DSC_2471

She chose to jump them instead of run from them

One year ago today

I was driving home from the beach praying for my phone to ring. We had been waiting on our referral from Vietnam for 20 long months and as some of you know we weren't sure it would come at all. Referrals would stop on September 1st and our agency was hoping our child's paperwork would clear in time but that was only 2 weeks away. I was exhausted and Annslee was totally over being in her carseat for hours. My phone rang, it was Therese and we had a BOY!!! I slept soundly that night for the first time in months.

I wrote HERE all about that night if you want to read it all again : )

As per our tradition with Annslee I had to snap some pics of Coby with his referral picture. I will warn you that he was snotty and covered in rashes and honestly it is not a good picture at all. However, the minute we pulled it up on the computer we were in love!!

The picture he is holding was taken on Aug 10, 2008~ amazing how different he looks one year later!!

Referral Anniv Coby

He has the biggest smile I have ever seen~ you can see his molars : )

DSC_8074

He is our sweet boy and we love him to the moon and back!!

Two is twice as hard~

Our mommy had all these grand plans of the perfect beach picture of the two of us. Well, as you can see that didn't happen. These are as close as she got : )

I love this one of Annslee~ she takes my breath away but unfortunately Coby only wanted to escape.

DSC_7885

Now check out that sweet smile on Coby ~ too bad Annslee looks like he is pulling her hair (maybe he was and that is why he is smiling ) lol

Party Time!

Our nephew Gabe turned 4 recently and he came to our house to swim and celebrate! Coby LOVES the water just like his sister so he was thrilled with a swim party : )

DSC_2513

The birthday boy wondering why his mommy is holding Coby : ) I watched Gabe being born and referrals from China came that day too. Once we saw the cut off we knew we were likely next and a month later we saw Annslee's face for the first time.

DSC_2523

He kicks his feet and moves his arms~ he will be swimming in no time!
