Here he is in the bassinet on the plane. He didn't sleep well in it b/c he is almost too big for it and he is a wild sleeper who needs room to move!
Annslee enjoyed bulkhead because it gave her some play room. This is on the short flight from Hanoi to Taipei (on the LONG one she slept 9 hours YAY)
If you have to ever have a long layover (ours was 8 hrs) then Taipei is the place to do it. This is just one of the great play areas they have. They also have many nursery rooms with couches and cribs ~ Sweet!
They do love their Hello Ki*tty there!
Such a great big sister helping him on his first slide ride : )
She charmed the flight attendants on each flight and here she is in the San Fran airport with the crew. We were waiting for Coby's immigration papers to clear and yes, Mark got in trouble for taking this picture : )
Eating a chicken nugget from Burg*er King in the San Fran airport (we had a 7 hr layover here and no fun play areas) Her first taste of "American" food in almost 2 weeks and I think she is enjoying it!
Our newest US Citizen!!! I forgot to pack a flag for him to hold like I did with Annslee and couldn't find one in the airport. He does have his red straw though.
We were entertained by a "puppet show" at the airport
After almost 34 hours of flying or being in the airport we almost missed our last flight (we would have CRIED) Luckily this was right by the gate and we were happy about that for sure!
Mia was at the airport waiting on us and what a wonderful sight to see!
I think she is happy to be home!!
He loved his baths in Vietnam but apparently not so much now.
Now I fully understand how hard it is to get two looking at the camera and smiling ; 0
Sweet boy~ he is so tired and can't get his schedule down yet. As you know he loves his two fingers just like Annslee but he also rubs the back of his head with the other hand just like she did!!
We are blessed beyond measure. Our church friends have provided dinner each night and all of your prayers are felt. I promise to post more later!!

Welcome home! I very well remember coming home with our second and the adjustment it was! 2 makes a huge difference, let alone the jet lag and sleeping patterns of little ones. I am so glad you are all HOME for Christmas! Nap when they do--it will help, the laundry can wait ;)
Oh Laura, these are wonderful. And Wow! That was an awesome airport to be laid over in! A playground??
He is beautiful and we are praying for adjustment and most of all SLEEP! lOVE YOU GUYS!
So glad you updated. I hope you're all able to start getting some good rest soon. How nice of your church friends to bring you meals!!!
Thank You for the update (I was one of those waiting)! 36 hours! Yikes!!!! I thought the 13.5 hour flight we had from NYC to Beijing was long. It took both Annabelle & Francesca one week to get onto US eastern time schedule..one-long-week! I just hope it works out better for you guys (by the end of that week, Keith & I wanted so bad to climb into our bed and close the door lol!) Loving the photos!
Ohmigosh... you guys had some layovers! Yikes! Did I read that correctly - Anns slept 9 hours on the plane! Wonderful!!!!!
I think that picture of Coby holding the straw is the CUTEST picture of him yet!!!!!!! He looks very happy to be a US citizen!
I can't just imagine how HAPPY Annslee was to see Mia at the Airport in Nashville! Wonderful!!!!
Thanks for posting! LOVE that photo of Coby with the straw too--so stinkin' cute. I can't believe that playground--how cool for Annslee and for you! So happy you are having some meals--that is so sweet!

Praying for sleep for you all
Congratulations on your new baby boy! And welcome home!
Laura,
I am SO happy that you all are home! Coby is beyond perfect!!! I think his little mouth is so cute. I could eat him up. These pictures are amazing. It all must have been such a whirlwind. I will keep you all in my prayers that you all get much needed rest. Love Miss Annslee in these pics, too! You are blessed my friend!
Awwww, what a little sweetie! I pray he gets on a good schedule soon, I remember how hard that jet lag can be.
Way to go Annslee for being such an AWESOME big sis!
Welcome home! Love the pictures. What a wonderful Christmas day you will have in your home. Congratulations!!!!
Karen (Feb Lovebug-ck:-)
No guilt-trippin from me! I know how hard it is to come home to a house of two kids now.
Family comes first, but I'll be here ready for every update when you are ready to post it.
Take care of yourselves!
Well, that picture of Coby in his little red USA outfit is just the cutest ever!
My Christmas wish for you is that everyone in the family is soon able to sleep through the night.
Welcome home, family of four!
You just relax and rest up and get to know your boy, don't worry about updating.
He is so cute and I am sure it's a huge adjustment for you all, I know I am slacking really bad with our new one in the picture...my laundry is piled HIGH!! lol
I hope you get some good sleep soon though, I can certainly sympathize!
Welcome Home!! I hope everyone is adjusted soon. I can't imagine how tired you must be after that long of a trip. Praying for you.
I love to see all these precious photos of Coby...he is such a cute little guy....and Annslee looks like she adjusting well to her role as the big sister!!
I can imagine these past few days have been rough trying to get back on US time!!
Hoping things start to get a little easier for you all!
Happy Holidays!
Lisa
Hey Laura and Mark: Nice to see more pictures of the little ones. I bet you guys are worn out, especially with Mark having to go right back to work. By the end of Christmas week hopefully you'll get back in your routine. I remember how wacked out we were coming home from China. Roy and I would fall asleep in the middle of conversations with each other! Love and holiday greetings from us to you! Debbie, Roy and Lily
Welcome Home family of four!
I love all the photos. What an adorable little boy. I hope the adjustment gets easier for you. I know it's a tough one.
SO glad you guys are home safely. MY GOSH they are adorable!! I know how hard this next stage will be, but just remember, it gets easier. Your cuties are too dang cute.
Welcome home. Isn't it a wonderful place, America??? It's a hard adjustment going from time zone to time zone, flying so long, leaving one environment for another and adding sleep deprivation is just cruel, isn't it? Know that we are still "in the thick" of it and will pray for you! HUGS!!!
Welcome home and I love the pictures. I will pray for sleep for all of you. I know how exhausting it is to be turned around on time. The pictures are adorable!!!
Oh my gosh...I have TEARS in my eyes after looking at those great photos!! I especially love the one of Annslee with the flight crew! I swear this child could have her own tv show! She just cracks me up!
And sweet, sweet Coby...oh I just want to HUG him!!!
I hope everyone catches up to U.S. time soon & that you're all back in the swing of things ASAP!!
Have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!
It's so important now that your boy needs you to adjust well back home, your girl and your body need to rest too, we understand your need to have some times for your family which have just been so wonderfully completed, it's ok to take a break from blogging(update can wait), just take time to enjoy your family now :)
Welcome home Baby Coby! Laura- congratulations on your beautiful baby boy! He is adorable. Rest Rest Rest!
Hugs to Annslee. So happy that you are all home safe and sound. Enjoy this Holiday home.
Thanks for the wonderful update on your trip home. I cannot believe that Annslee looks that peppy after two weeks of travel and a long journey home. I'm sure I would have two having meltdowns by then. And even though you said Coby was outgrowing the bassinet, he just looks so tiny next to his big sister. He is at such a sweet age.
Your sleep schedule sounds like ours did when we got home. (Oh, who am I kidding... for the first year after coming home!) But, on the bright side, I found it was wonderful from a bonding and attachment perspective, as there were many quiet times in the night rocking, holding and cuddling close.
I will continue to pray for your transition and that you ALL get caught up on sleep!
Hugs,
Michelle
What an amazing first post! Laura, you are tireless! I know you have so much going on with Coby's transition, and we appreciate you sharing these precious first moments back with us. I will pray for SLEEP for all of you and for a very short grieving period for Coby! Love ya!
What a couple of sweeties you have! Thanks for the update, I know youve gotta be one tired momma!
Love all the photos. I can't wait to hear more about your newly expanded family. I hope Coby gets on a good schedule soon so you can all get some rest. (and so you can blog more!:))
Welcome home! Now can I get a photo of him in his Grincy shirt and boxers? Just kidding. Love you all.
So glad you are home. The pictures are precious!
Love,
Monica
We are SOOOOO thrilled for you all - when I get back from the UK look out for a packet for your new addition xxxxx
What a sweet boy! sorry to hear about the sleeping. Not much better here, though he sleeps at night instead of day, but still wants to be on my chest all the time. Well, better to be TOO attached...
I just put a package in the mail to you today--the part of the never-sent one that was for you and Coby.
Have the best CHristmas ever!
You flew a similar route as we did when we got Willa (Taipei and San Fran), although yours was even longer. San Fran airport just doesn't compare to Taipei does it? I'm so glad you're home and adjusting!
Beautiful photos!! Congrats again!
