Movie with Mia

We got up this morning knowing it was Movie Day with Mia! Re*gal theaters are doing free movies for kids all summer long (check it out online) and today's G pick was Charlotte's Web : ) A while back I got them matching Tshirts so they wore them today and Annslee insisted on piggies!

Sometimes she looks so grown up but I think she looks like a baby in this picture

While Jenny got snacks I hung out with some cute and sassy girls

We went to the bookstore but for some reason all my pictures had weird coloring so I went b&w on this one

Remember this candy as a kid?? Miss A had it for the first (and hopefully last ha ha) time today

Just some fun ~ for Miss A

*Warning~ please stop looking if you find nu*dity offensive : )

Annslee has a responsibility chart that we fill out each week and two of the hardest things on there for her are going to bed nicely (aka letting me leave after a few minutes...she wants me to stay and sing and usually I end up falling asleep) and staying in her seat during meals. She spotted a Bar*bie swimming pool and decided it must be hers so we said if she did well on her chart it would be. She has talked non stop about it for over a week and the grin on her face as she did was priceless! I didn't get the reaction pics on Sunday night b/c I was busy taking video but trust me~ she was thrilled!! (again sorry but most of her "people" don't have swimsuits)

Yeah, you can put real water in it...not just "tend" water

On Monday night as we sat down for dinner we noticed our neighbors had set up a water slide in their front yard~ Annslee ate really fast!

We watch M&R more than I care too...here's a hint~ it is about two rabbits who apparently have no parents! Seriously, we have never complained about the shows she has loved but this one drives us nuts. Anyway, in an episode recently they made S'mores so you know we had to do that too~ she loved them and so did we : )

Baby Shower aka Big Girl Party

On Sunday I helped host a baby shower (actually we had one for another friend on Saturday too...they are due 10 days apart!) Anyway, Annslee went along but I reminded her it was a "big girl party" so she said to me on the way into the house that it meant "look eyes not hands" Yep...

Sarah has a baby grand and my baby definitely thought it was grand!

Here we are with the mama to be in the middle : )

Annslee loved being the center of attention for a while

She had lots of comments to make while she was helping with the gift opening~ one I remember was "a paci baby not me" Yeah, miss thing what about those two fingers in your mouth all the time LOL
The piano was really hard to stay away from!

We had a fun time hanging out with friends and Annslee ate so many carrots I thought she had turned into a rabbit : )

Indulge me!

Sorry, but I had to do one more swim lesson post : )

Tonight we hung out with our friend Luke as we went to class at a different time.

We are taking lessons at the home of a lady from our church and here Annslee is letting her know the dog is in the pool~ of course Annslee thought it was hillarious!

Doesn't she look so athletic in this shot!

Obviously proud of herself! Tonight she worked on treading water and doing the "freestyle" stroke

The highlight for her was going off the diving board~ she loves doing that. Last summer she went off one for the first time so she is a pro now LOL

Giving Daddy a wet hug is always fun

Lessons are over so I guess now we just practice daily at our pool!

My little fish!

We have had a really fun and busy weeek! We've done the free movie at our theater, dance class, the pool daily, picked up our revised homestudy to send to VN, gone to VBS kickoff, and every afternoon we have gone to swim lessons : )

Annslee has always loved the water and is fearless! Ms Kym really wants her to float and even tickled her to get her to relax but the whole time Miss A wants to kick her legs to swim : )

Waiting her turn has been really hard but I am so proud of her as she always stays on the steps and hasn't once had to "sit out" like some of her classmates who shall remain nameless : )

"Diving" off the side is her favorite part and Ms. Kym is going to work with her on doing it without doing a belly buster!

I don't have great pics of her swimming underwater but she is really getting the concept of using your arms to get moving~ she has always relied mainly on her kicking but now she can swim really far!
The biggest breakthrough this week has been coming up for a breath and then continuing swimming. Usually she swims as far as she can on a breath then expects someone to help her out~ today she did it!! She swam three strokes then came up for air and then did it again...YAY!

What makes a 3 year old happy?

Going to the pool with her best buddy of course!! Yep, we finally saw MIA on Friday!! Seriously, we have never gone this long without seeing her and Annslee was about ready to burst with excitement. She woke up at 6:30 am and said "Phone Mia Mama Jenny Annslee House Now" which may be the longest "sentence" she has ever said : ) Basically, she wanted me to call Jenny and get Mia there pronto! I held her off until about 8 am when I called and made 100% sure they were still coming.

We got there a few minutes before they did and Annslee 'posed' with her Cinder*ella doll and then spotted Mia at the gate and she didn't notice me or Cindy for the rest of the day. She would only swim to Jenny and jump to her LOL

Jenny had water guns for each of them and they turned them on her! Yeah, they thought squirting her was pretty funny!

I will post more pics when Jenny sends the ones she got (hint hint Jenny) as I know she got some great ones too. We will NOT go this long without a Mia fix again : )

Today we headed to our niece's softball game and Miss A was happy to pose for me (no worries, she already went to the pool this morning with Daddy )

We drove up there but the game was forfeited so they just played on the playground instead. Here she is with her cousins : )

I love watching her play with them. She totally cracks me up how "girly" she is sometimes. She acts like such a princess and will hold out her hand for Jacob (the 7 year old) to help her up steps and such and she refused to hug him b/c he was dirty. Of course the next minute she is gathering rocks for me to take home for her. Her favorite thing to do right now is say "Girl Power" LOL

Practicing?

We went to our friend's house Monday night to have dinner and had the added bonus of spending time watching Annslee with their 6 month old Tyler. When we arrived Annslee thought he needed one of her big kisses but I don't know if Tyler agreed : )

She watched very dilligently as Jana fed him his baby food and held the bottle 'at the ready' the entire time. Finally it was time for his bottle and Annslee had to do the honors. She really was so good with him and kept wiping his mouth if he drooled while she fed him.

He was fussing at one point and she smartly grabbed his paci and put it in his mouth. She also got all of his toys and piled them on him.

I LOVE this picture ~ it shows how absolutley exasperated she is with not being able to make him happy! Click to enlarge to totally see the look on her face : )

She really is so good with little ones~ she is going to make a GREAT big sister!

Memorial Day Weekend Fun

On Saturday the cousins came over to play!!

Her cousin Shelby arrived with a Bar*bie talking townhouse that she no longer plays with and Annslee was thrilled to say the least!

We played in the yard some

and of course went to the pool : )

On Sunday morning this was the look she chose for church~ luckily she removed the headband in the car : )

After nap we went down the street to a birthday party that had a cowboy theme with horses!!

Here she is last year at the same party ~ she is growing up so fast!

I hope you are all having a safe and happy weekend!
